Efforts taken for karst water utilization in the City of Pécs
A város kiépítését a Mecsek bővizű forrásai tették lehetővé, amelyeket már a rómaiak is kiépített vízrendszeren át hasznosítottak.
A török korban szokásaiknak megfelelően itató kutak épültek, melyeknek egy része még megtalálható. Ismeretes a török fürdőkultúra, melynek szintén vannak Pécsett emlékei. A török után a vízvezetékek egyházi, kórházi ingatlanokhoz és gazdag polgárok házaihoz is kiépültek. Ez a 2000 éves vízrendszer a Tettye-forrásra alapított vízellátó hálózat kiépülésével 1892-től fokozatosan háttérbe szorult, a vezetékek tönkrementek, a csobogók, kutak elbontásra kerültek
A város polgársága úgy látja, hogy az országosan egyedülálló mediterrán jelleget a források, kutak újbóli helyreállitása jelentős mértékben hangsúlyozná, ennek érdekében a tervező és rekonstrukciós munka megindult, amelyről szeretnénk beszámolni.
The karst springs, which have a large díscharqe, promoted the founding and construction of the city. Even the Romans utilized these werere through pipelines.
According to the prevailing customs in the Turkish era, drinking wells were built, a few of which still exíst. The Turkish bath culture is well known, and some remnants are also found in Pécs. After the Turkish occupation, pipelines were connected with clerical buildings. hospitals and the houses of the wealthy. This 2000 year old water system, based on the Tettye spring, was gradually abandoned from 1892 onwards, with the building of the water supply system. The pipelines collapsed and deteriorated, and the wells were demolished.
The etnaens of Pécs think that the renovation of the wells would ernphasiae the unique Mediterranean atmosphere of the city. The planning and the reconstruction of the city has started. and is presented in this paper.
